“You Got To Know When To Hold Em. Know When To Fold Em.”

Yes, I do love Kenny Rogers. This is not about country music though. This is about the genetic predisposition that humans have to gamble. Did you just say “What did he just say?” You heard me correctly. All humans are gamblers and you should learn to embrace it. Let me prove it to you. We must credit everything you value in life to humans gambling. Ever since the first amoeba crawled out of the sludge looking for more food our race has been pushing the limits. Think about fire. Try and count all the deaths that have occurred from humans trying to control it.  Yet, it has affected food, health, travel, power, heat, and a million other things. What if we had just said “Man that is hot. Let’s leave that crap alone!”

The evolution of mankind has been determined by risk versus reward. People gambling something they cherish ( money, time, there life) in an effort to create something they desire. You think it was safe for Michelangelo to be painting so high in the Sistine Chapel? Maybe you forget about the Wright Brothers? You know, those guys that were 100 feet of the ground in something that they didn’t even know would fly?

Everything you see in your daily life, everything you see when you travel, everything you see on television (including the television) started from an idea. That idea had to be nurtured somehow. For ideas to come to fruition people must voice there idea and risk being ridiculed. People must risk there time chasing that dream. People must waste there money creating that vision. All the while gambling on the fact that this idea is a good one and will pay off.

I am a gambler and I appreciate all other human beings who embrace it.  It is because of those gamblers past, that I live the life I do today. If you want to truly live life then you must chase those wild reams you have. You must voice your genius plan. When you start to make this a daily habit you start to feel that rush that only creation can bring.

Now that doesn’t mean you should be a degenerate. There is a difference between gambling to win and gambling to lose. Addicted gamblers are just looking for a way to self destruct. True gamblers are different. They study the odds. If they have enough facts to believe that  they can win then they do not hesitate to put there money on the table.

Every time.

To your success,

Aaron Parkinson
