I used to be a mixed martial artists and have had the pleasure of training with and meeting some of the world’s best. UFC 100 this weekend is a milestone event for a sport that was never supposed to make it. Congratulations!
I will not be going to this one live (rare). I will however, be watching every minute of it at my brother’s house.
Here are my picks:
Mir VS Lesnar: I am taking Mir. I know he is the underdog but he already beat him once and that is stuck in Lesnar’s head whether he admits it or not. Mir also looked amazing against Nogeira where he was also an underdog. If Frank doesn’t win he might actually die….. so go Frank! (Yes I am a huge Mir fan)
Alves VS St. Pierre: Alves is bigger but he doesn’t have anywhere near the ability that St. Pierre has, except for one place: striking power. You can expect to see one of two things happen. Either George dominates this fight from top position and wears Alves down, completely outclassing him OR Alves puts a FRIGHTENING knockout on George. Yes he does have the skill/power to do it. I will take St. Pierre.
Bisping VS Henderson: Neither one of these guys has looked amazing lately. Hendo is old and Bisping is just good, not great. I will take Bisping in a back peddling jab fest. Yawn…

My pics are:
1. Lesnar (even though Mir has looked better than ever)
2. St. Pierre (scared about the power of Alves though)
3. Henderson (old but I think Henderson takes him out in the 2nd round)
4. Fitch
5. Belcher
6. Bonnar (even though I like Coleman)

Very good picks. I find myself in agreement with all of them! Although, I do hope to see Henderson win. Will you be attending 101 in Philly?
